GSCE results celebrated across our schools
Students and staff from Ted Wragg Trust schools across Devon have been celebrating their GCSE results today (22nd Aug.)
Our year 11 students achieved a fantastic set of Key Stage 4 outcomes, with 7 in 10 students achieving a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths. All Saints Academy, Lipson Academy and Tor Bridge High all celebrated their best ever results.

All Saints Academy
At All Saints Academy, year 11 students have been celebrating with family and friends as the school secures its best ever results. In a day that has so many opportunities to celebrate, our community is proud to announce:
- 62% achieved of all students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both in English and Maths
- 81% of students achieved at least a Grade 4 in English. A truly exceptional achievement.
- Childcare, Health and Social Care, Photography and Sports Studies all saw 80% Grade 4 equivalent or higher, with Religious studies students all securing 100% Grade 5 or above. In Polish, 100% of pupils achieved at least a Grade 7.

Cranbrook Education Campus
This morning, we were thrilled to announce that 64% of our Year 11 students achieved a pass in both English and Maths, while 100% of our students secured the qualifications needed to advance to their chosen post-16 destinations.
Our Year 11 cohort exceeded expectations, achieving an overall positive Progress score. Additionally, our Year 10 students who took their early entry English Literature exams this year performed exceptionally well, with 75% earning a grade 4 or higher.

Honiton Community College
Students at Honiton Community College were celebrating this morning with over 20% of all English and Maths grades awarded were 7, 8 or 9; another increase in the percentage of students being awarded a strong pass in both English and Maths, building on improvements last year.
Taking a short break from celebrating to talk to us, Year 11 student David R said: “I’ve got exactly what I wanted and I’m so proud! It’s been a combination of the right teachers, resources and hard work. A Level Physics, Chemistry and Maths is next for me.”

Isca Academy
At Isca Academy students are celebrating today as over 67% achieved a grade 4 or above in both GCSE Maths and English. They join students across the Ted Wragg Trust who collectively achieved a brilliant set of GCSE results with Ebacc subjects seeing their best results at Isca Academy for over 3 years.

Lipson Academy
Just a week after celebrating really strong A Level results last week, Year 11 students at Lipson Academy have achieved the school’s best ever results for the third year in a row. More than half of children who sat core subjects English and Maths achieved a grade 5 or better. While the school’s Progress 8 score - a measurement of students’ performance between the last year of primary school to taking their GCSEs - was 0.31+.

“Watching our students collect their GCSE results this morning and celebrating with family and friends is why we do what we do. The raising of student achievement is our core purpose, our reason for being. We are preparing our students for their adult life, so, when they are ready, they leave us with the very best set of academic results of which they are capable. Marine Academy Plymouth
At Marine Academy Plymouth today more students than ever before achieved a strong pass in both English & Maths and record numbers achieved the English Baccalaureate. Leading the celebrations at Marine Academy Plymouth today were:
- Marcel who achieved a string of 8s and 9s! Going on to study Criminology, Maths and Physics.
- Caitlin who worked so hard to achieve such high grades! Going on to study maths, sport and biology
- Jake for a fantastic set of grades including a 9 in English! Going on to study physics, maths and IT.

Queen Elizabeth’s
Just a week after celebrating strong A Level results, Year 11 students at Queen Elizabeth’s have achieved a brilliant set of GCSE results with 70% of students have gaining a grade 4 or higher in GCSE English and Maths.

"Our priority at QE is to ensure that our students gain a broad set of door opening qualifications to get them onto a path of success for post-16 study and apprenticeships. Sidmouth College
Students and staff at Sidmouth College have been celebrating their GCSE results today. The number of students achieving a Grade 4 or more in English and Maths increased by 9% compared to last year. Increases were also seen in the number of students achieving a Grade 5 or more too.

St James School
At St James, we are thrilled that we have improved our school’s outcomes with 70% of students achieving a grade 4 or higher in both English and maths and 54% 5 or above with excellent results in many subject areas.

St Luke’s School
Students were celebrating at St Luke’s this morning where 71% of students gained a Grade 4 or higher in both maths and English. These results cement a strong year for St Luke’s which also saw it rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted earlier this year.

Tor Bridge High
Students and staff at Tor Bridge High have been celebrating fantastic GCSE results today (22nd Aug.) This year’s cohort has demonstrated remarkable ambition, courage and hard work, and the School is immensely proud to have made rapid and significant progress, securing its highest ever GCSE results.
Tor Bridge High, recently joined the Ted Wragg Trust, but the Estover school had been working with the Trust for some time. This year’s results saw double the number of children achieving a Grade 5 or higher in English and Maths when compared with last year and 69% of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher in both subjects.

West Exe
Students and staff from West Exe School have been celebrating GCSE results today (22nd Aug.)
Students achieved a fantastic set of GCSE results, with 69% of children achieving a grade 4 or higher in GCSE English and Maths, and 53% achieving a grade 5 or higher in both subjects. In addition to this, nearly one third of all entries taken at West Exe achieved grade 7 or higher.
