Honiton Community College: consultation on change of age range from 11-18 to 11-16 through phased closure of the sixth form

Following our recent consultation and subsequent application to amend the age range of Honiton Community College and close the Post-16 provision, the Department for Education has now formally approved our application to close the sixth form. Our current Year 13 students will be our final cohort of Post-16 students at the College, and the Post-16 provision will close in August 2025 once the current Year 13 students have graduated.

This decision has not been taken lightly. We carefully considered all the feedback received during the consultation and are truly grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts.

An Admission Variation for the admission of Years 12 and 13 has been submitted to the School Adjudicator for the academic years 2024-2025 and 2025-2026.
